After seeing a publisher's call for board books on STEAM topics, I was inspired to create a moveable board book about cause & effect. In this book, the reader can move something on the first page of each spread and see what the effect that they caused on the second page of the spread. From causing a popsicle to melt in the heat, to pushing buttons to program a robot, to pouring vinegar into a jar of baking soda, the reader will explore concepts of STEAM that can be observed at home! They'll walk away with the realization that science is everywhere, and even the youngest among us can be tiny scientists--it's as simple as finding examples of cause and effect!

A fun fact: Jasper "helped" a lot with this project, so he's included in the illustrations on every spread.

I am actively querying agents with a manuscript titled It Sucks to Be Me. I don't want to give too much away here, so I'm going to leave the rest a mystery for now. I will say that the inspiration for this story struck me out of nowhere, and it has nothing to do with my original Jasper and Wazza stories. I will submit the manuscripts about my pets eventually, but It Sucks to Be Me came together so beautifully that I am excited to pitch it first. Stay tuned!

The first manuscript I wrote is called Jasper and Wazza. This is based on the true story of the time I introduced my cat to my now-husband's dog. Both fiercely loyal to their respective owners, it was a bit of an adjustment for everyone. Now, they have been happily living together for 9 years. I envision this to be the first in a series about our two pets, as I have lots of stories about them!
